Taking pictures is hard

I brought my camera to a show, and most of my pictures sucked pretty hard. I'm just not all that confident, both with using my camera (on a technical level), and the act of going up to the front and taking pictures of bands while they play. My pictures are from too far away, or I'm just not aiming at what I want to be taking pictures of because it's dark, or whatever. I did take a couple of decent pictures that didn't involve bands. Mostly one, actually:
